Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clinical Cofounders (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use www.clinicalcofounders.com, app.clinicalcofounders.com, and related services (the “Service”). It is part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information you provide
- Physician profiles — name, credentials, specialty, primary work and practice setting, city and state, availability, interests, the kinds of companies you want to hear from, rates you choose to list, a short note, and profile links (such as LinkedIn or Doximity).
- Founder and company profiles — name, title, company name and links, stage, focus, the problem you are working on, clinical needs, preferred specialties, hours needed, and billing contact email.
- Activity on the Service — introduction requests and responses, messages, contact details you choose to share, call proposals, projects and any payment markers you record, ratings and tags, reports and blocks, feedback, and support requests.
- Preferences — such as whether you want email notifications.
Do not share patient information. Never enter protected health information (PHI) or anything that could identify a patient in messages, profiles, or anywhere else on the Service. The Service does not accept file attachments and is not designed or secured for health information. We are not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, and we do not screen content for PHI. If patient information is shared anyway, the person who shared it is responsible for it, and we may delete it when we become aware of it. To report it, email hello@clinicalcofounders.com.
2. Information from other sources
- Sign-in providers — when you sign in with LinkedIn or Doximity, we receive the information you authorize them to share, such as your name, email address, profile image, and an account identifier. Their own privacy policies apply to them.
- Payment processor — Stripe processes subscription payments. We receive limited billing details such as customer and subscription identifiers, plan status, and billing email. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, timestamps, and log data collected automatically to operate and secure the Service.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Show profiles, suggest matches and recommendations based on profile information, and enable introductions, messaging, calls, projects, and ratings
- Process subscriptions and send transactional notices
- Keep the Service safe: prevent spam, fraud, and abuse; review reports, blocks, and rating disputes; and enforce our Terms (see “Messages” below)
- Send notifications about activity on your account (you can turn these off) and, where permitted, news about the Service (you can opt out)
- Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to understand how the Service is used
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests
4. Messages
We store your messages, call proposals, and related activity on our servers so the Service works and so we can look into problems. We do not actively watch, read, or scan conversations, and we do not use automated tools to screen them for abuse, harassment, patient information, or other content. Authorized team members may access messages when someone reports a problem, when we suspect fraud or misuse, to enforce our Terms, to provide support you ask for, or when required by law. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted and are visible to everyone in the thread.
5. What other users can see
The Service exists to connect people, so some information is visible to other users:
- Physician profiles are shown to signed-in founders; physician names are shown only to founders with a paid plan.
- Founder and company profiles are shown to physicians, for example when a founder requests an introduction.
- Messages, call proposals, and projects are visible to the participants in that thread.
- Contact details are shared only when you choose to share them.
- Ratings and tags may be shown on profiles and used in aggregate.
Once you share information with another user, we cannot control what they do with it — including copying it, forwarding it, or using it off the Service — and we are not responsible for their use of it. Share only what you are comfortable sharing.
6. How we share information
- Service providers — companies that help us run the Service, such as hosting (Vercel), database hosting (Neon), payments (Stripe), sign-in (LinkedIn and Doximity), and email delivery. They may use information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety — when we believe it is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Clinical Cofounders.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- With your consent — or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage mainly to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and keep the Service secure. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we add analytics tools, we will update this Policy. You can control cookies in your browser, but some features may not work without them. Browsers’ “Do Not Track” signals are not consistently defined, so we do not respond to them; we do not track you across other sites.
8. Data retention and account deletion
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our agreements, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
You can delete your account from your account settings. When you do, we remove your name, contact details, and core profile content from the marketplace, remove contact details you shared in messages, cancel any active subscription, and label you as a deleted account. Some information remains:
- Messages you sent may remain visible to the people you sent them to, and ratings and other records of past activity may remain without your name attached.
- We keep a copy of your deleted profile for 30 days so an accidental deletion can be undone.
- We keep billing, audit, safety, and legal records as required or permitted by law, and residual copies may remain in backups for a limited time.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in accounts secure.
10. Your choices and rights
You can view and update most profile information and your email notification setting in the Service, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email hello@clinicalcofounders.com. We will need to verify your identity, and you may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
11. Children’s privacy
The Service is for professionals age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
12. United States only
The Service is operated in and for the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those where you live.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy here with a new date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
14. Contact
